Vision

It has been my endeavor to create a tranquil, aesthetic, and inspirational experience for guests within this already beautiful mountain setting. The magic of the spring waters and of the land has spoken to me to create a nurturing oasis.

Whether your journey to Sunrise Springs is alone, with another, or with a group, to relax or to focus, I would like you to leave with a hunger to know more of the kinds of experience that make up peace, inspiration and pleasure.

My ultimate vision is to promote peace in a world that thrives on conflict. How you may ask can an inn in a tiny village in the mountains of New Mexico promote peace? By creating a retreat that offers its guests a unique physical environment, and programs, activities and services that have been carefully designed to foster and teach mindful living.

It is my wish to utilize the experience of art and the healing arts in the service of both your own personal vision and of our collective vision for peace.

Megan Hill owned and operated the Hill Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Hailed as the best gallery of contemporary art between Denver and California by Art in America, The Hill Gallery was in operation for a decade between 1979 and 1989. Evidence of this highly developed artistic aesthetic can be found throughout the property. Megan's art and her art collection grace the walls of our public areas as well as the individual guest rooms.

History

Sunrise Springs, located in the richly soiled region of the Rio Grande basin and La Cienega Valley, can be traced back as far as more than three thousand years. By the early 17th century, Sunrise Springs had become a paraje, a resting place, on the original El Camino Real, and was the last significant state coach stop en route to Santa Fe from Mexico City.

The lush solitude, which impressed the first Spanish settlers, still remains. In the tradition of providing a welcome rest from the everyday, Sunrise Springs Resort Spa continues to be a source of relaxation and rejuvenation.
